11 of the 15 countries consider a persistent or episodic condition as being a barrier to people with disabilities deciding to seek paid employment. Only Denmark, Germany, Italy and Portugal believe this not to be the case.

Here respondents were asked the question “does having a persistent or episodic condition make it more difficult for a person seeking work?” Respondent were asked to respond yes or no. A yes was given a value of 1 and a no was given a value of 2. A persistent or episodic condition is considered to be a barrier if the rating is ≤ 1.3. All ratings ≤1.3 are highlighted in orange.
